Texas Brings Three Resolutions to AMA House

When the American Medical Association House of Delegates convenes in Chicago on Saturday for its annual meeting, the agenda will include three resolutions sent forward last month by the TMA House of Delegates. They are:
  • Resolution 213, which asks AMA to help physicians move toward e-prescribing, such as by winning approval to remove the requirement that physicians handwrite “brand medically necessary” on Medicaid prescriptions.
  • Resolution 123, which would have AMA urge Congress to increase penalties for using health savings accounts for nonmedical purposes.
  • Resolution 616, which calls on AMA to hold all its meetings at completely smoke-free facilities, “within all reasonable means.”
